Katie Discovers the interweb, and other random thoughts

Well, well, my first ever blog post on my own. I feel like such a big girl. I guess it's about time I bite the bullet and join the technologically savvy world. I do realize that I am about one full year behind in people actually caring that its a big deal to me that I have a blog AND know how to use it (sort of), but it makes it none-the-less magical to me. The turning point for the fall into technology was the solid month we spent without a computer in our home. There is nothing that can cause me to stand for nearly an hour surrounded by thirteen year olds logging onto their myspace accounts while my husband talks to Sean the computer specialist about how the new iMac Mini has blah, blah, blah, while the iBook has gobldie-gook, and the iMac does la-di-doo more than the possibility of having to look in the newspaper for movie times or find our phone book. I realize I have indeed become dependant on technology and sadly enough it's not even for anything cool, it's just so that I don't have to use an encyclopedia or crack open the dictionary. I have had an epiphany of all the work that happens between the end of my fingertips and the monitor of my computer that makes me delight in the magic of the interweb and want to use it to its fullest capacity. Or at least to write ridiculous rantings like Brandon Barker. So that is what I hope to do. I hope to give back to this little white screen infront of me a little of the joy that it has given me by using it for it's most noble purpose, making me happy and keeping me firmly planted in our pseudocomfy computer chair. (by the way, we went with the iMac)
